Spring 2013 Beauty Trends
With spring right around the corner I am very excited to start wearing some of the beauty trends that are going to be big this season. Spring and Summer beauty of 2013 is going to be characterized by a very natural and glowing look to the skin that stands alone or is accompanied by an emphasis on one other feature of the face. Below I explore 5 key beauty looks to try this season.
Skin is In
Perhaps the easiest look to pull of this spring is minimal and natural make-up that emphasizes the skin. The key to getting this look is having a matte finish to the skin, with a subtle and natural glow. Look for foundations that finish matte along with light pink to peach blushes that compliment your skin tone to bring out your own inner glow.
Set down your tweezers! Bold, full and natural looking brows are what’s in for spring. If you don’t have naturally full brows you can always fill them in with brow pencil or powder. Keep in mind that because this look is trying to recreate natural brows, the shape of your brows should be relatively flat and not overly rounded or arched.
Minimal make-up with a bright pop of color on the eyes is all the rage on the runway. Bright blues and pinks are especially popular colors to choose from. The key to make this look your own is to be bold with color choice; you’re not looking for quiet pastels but extremely pigmented and vibrant shocks of color. You can play with the color and level of boldness by choosing whether to line just the bottom, top, or all around your eyes. To make a statement there is always the option of placing color all over the lid.
While red lips are typically associated with fall and winter beauty looks, this year they are being carried over into spring and summer beauty looks too. To update your red lip from winter to spring, look for a brighter or more coral toned red.
If sporting bright colors on your eyes isn’t exactly your thing then this eye trend may be more up your ally. Equally beautiful and playful is the many different ways that black eyeliner will be used this season. This look is easier to tailor to your personal tastes but can be just as fashion forward. Trying smudging it all around your eyes for a smoky effect, or go for an edgy look with winged tips.
