Playlist: 2013 Round-Up

A lot has happened within the first two months of the new year: alt-rock staple My Bloody Valentine released mbv, their first album since 1991. Atoms for Peace (which consists of big names like Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich) dropped their debut album Amok just a couple days ago. And most recently, Daft Punk posted a potential album cover on their website, unequivocally hinting that they may be releasing a new album this year for the first time since 2005.  Is it me, or did 2013 start off on a fantastic note?

Pun aside, this playlist consists of old favorites with their newest tracks as well as some artists to watch out for this year (like sister-trio Haim and electro duo AlunaGeorge). And keep your ears open – Vampire Weekend, Azealia Banks, and Major Lazer, just to name a few, are all set to release new albums within a couple of months.

Happy listening!
